Question banks are a commodity — every competitor has tens of thousands and one gives them away. What none of them can hand you for free is a trustworthy answer to “where do I stand against everyone else sitting this?” That answer only exists if everyone sat the same paper at the same time, which is the one thing Cohort is built to guarantee.
A fixed window, not a rolling average
Each Grand Test opens for a set window. Your rank and percentile are computed across everyone who sat it in that window. Practice after the window is unranked and excluded, so late takers cannot move your position.
Questions written against what NBEMS tests
Items are generated against the concepts the exam has actually examined, not copied out of previous papers. You already drill PYQs — a paper built from them would measure how much of that drilling you remember, not how well you would do.
Bad items get pulled, and everyone is rescored
Every question is checked statistically after the fact — difficulty, discrimination, whether its distractors did anything. An item that fails is voided and excluded from scoring for the whole cohort. Your answers are never touched.
